Field Visit to Vescoops Food Processing Enterprisees

The Department of Commerce, in association with Venture Lab, Young Roots, and the Commerce Association, organized a field visit to CoKoon Mushroom Cultivation Centre under Vescoops Food Processing Enterprises, Veliyathunadu, on 22nd October 2025 at 2:00 PM. The program aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the process of mushroom cultivation and the entrepreneurial possibilities within the agri-business sector. During the visit, students observed various stages of cultivation, including substrate preparation, spawning, incubation, and harvesting. The interactive technical session offered valuable insights into modern cultivation techniques, hygiene standards, and post-harvest processing. Experts also discussed sustainability practices and marketing strategies for value-added mushroom products. The visit enriched the students’ understanding of agripreneurship, food processing innovation, and business management, effectively bridging theoretical concepts with real-world industrial practices.
